Popular Farming Locations For Rangers?
Okay, before you say anything, don't tell me to use the search button as I have, and I cannot get any straight answers.
What is a good place to farm as a ranger at this time? I've been doing UW and FoW runs (normal) as well as 2 and 3 man trapping groups in UW.
It makes fair profit, but I'm bored. I haven't done a lot of heavy non-FoW/UW farming since the Prophecies days, a lot has changed. What do you guys reccomend?
*sigh* I miss Ettins...

well, it's certainly not a popular build, but me and a guildie came up with this for a speedy build to kill Hulking Stone Elementals as a Ranger:
template is OgQTc47mNCVC24G0SIPA1Q4o4AA
12 Curses, 11+1+x Expertise, 6+1 Marks
[skill]Zojun's Shot[/skill][skill]Read The Wind[/skill][skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill][skill]Mark of Pain[/skill][skill]Throw Dirt[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Lightning Reflexes[/skill] and Necrosis, which doesn't work with gurucode atm.
it's probably not optimal, but it works, and pretty damn fast. cycle blind and stances to not die, and SS + MoP + attacking for a ton of damage. Necrosis works wonders on stragglers.

Zomg Noodle....
Well if you want ranger farm builds, your best bet is the Ranger's Beacon. I'll try and dig around for a link but I'm sure there's one posted here somewhere. It's a very helpful site dedicated to ranger builds mostly. It's updated fairly often and most of the builds there are the best farms you're going to find for a ranger. (echo dust trapper, imp barrager, r/w stance farmer, Forest farmer, and plenty of other mildly effective ones.)
The ranger is lacking any real profitable solo farms atm, but there are certainly a few fun builds to play when you're bored.

I'd say - Quickening Zephyr (can add Serpent to maintain, but it's bad on Imps) + VwK + Vengeful weapon + storm chaser. can farm tengus, fire imps, destroyer cores (with hero using QZ), bog skales. Check in farming section's stickied thread.

Yeah, I was thinking about the Destroyer Core method, but my Norn rank is only 2 and I don't have "I am Unstoppable!". Only my Asura and Deldrimor ranks are 5+.

If you mean that build then yes it still works in NM and HM. Same build can be used to farm Fire Imps in HM & Dragon Mosses HM.

I'm still surprised how few people know Ranger's Beacon.

Kinda nerfed. There is a group of imps that patrol the bridge, it's really hard to pull them and they ignore normal aggro rules (they dont stop at aggro if players backs up, they follow him and cast spells). At NM it's possible to survive, not so much in HM.

That patrol has always been there. They start moving if you run down to far when luring the other Imps. When you trigger you just wait for them to run to the bridge, fire a shot, and kill.
I just did the run now its the same as always. All you need in HM is good luring on the Ice Imps.

Too bad it's harder than SS/55 or 600/smite and monks usually don't look for famine rangers.

Famine in combination with a monk and both Visage spells does work indeed, it is not as fast as 55/SS or the 600/Smite as Abedeus said, but fun to do when say a friend who 55's can't find an SS. There are 2 monks in my guild that PM me every so often asking if I wanna come UW. It's still a new concept to me but it's definitely fun.
